Sunny and Warm in Rhymney on 30 November???

This morning the Dale made their way up to Rhymney on what was a lovely sunny day for the the last Sunday in November. Rhymney won the toss and started the game. The Dale showed some great defence but the hosts persevered and claimed the first score of the morning, 1-0. The Dale restarted and Thomas Gregory had a great run passing to William Morgan and onto Connor Thomas, a handoff give a penalty against the Dale. Rhymney did not use the possession and a knock-on gave scrum to Dale we saw some great passing between James Williams, Max Rossiter and Jordan Way to move up the field but the Dale found touch. Thomas Gregory put in a good tackle causing knock-on and scrum to Dale, The ball was passed to Thomas Gregory to use his speed to equalise, 1-1. Max Rossiter put in some great tackles but Rhymney managed to score, 2-1. Dale restart and William Morgan and James Williams had great run, dodging the defence, Rhymney caught an interception, The possession was short lived and the Dale was awarded a penalty, Connor Thomas had a great run dragging a player with him but was unfortunately pushed into touch. The next phase of place of possession passing back and fore for handoffs, touch and knock-on's. Dylan Caddy was forced to leave the filed of play through a foot injury.

First third Rhymney 2 - Oakdale 1

The Dale start the second quarter and we see Kian Godwin take to the field to play for his debut this season. Rhymney take an interception but a knock-on gives a scrum back to the Dale, possession passes back and forth until Kian Godwin picks up a loose ball and has a great run he passes on to Oliver Cooke who passes to Thomas Gregory, a knock-on gives a scrum to Rhymney. Kian is back there with a great tackle Max Rossiter comes in for a thumping tackle causing the knock-on, possession was short with you it soon back with Rhymney, William Morgan comes in for excellent tackles on the bounce. Thomas Gregory put in an excellent tackle on the try line, unfortunately he twisted his knee causing him to come off temporarily. The game restarts and Rhymney score, 3-1 William Morgan restarted the game with a very determined run and a try straight from the whistle 3-2.

Second third Rhymney 3 - Oakdale 2

Dale start the last third and there is some great running and passing between the team with Max Rossiter to Thomas Gregory back to Max, on to Kian Godwin and then to Gabriel Jones before a knock-on gives Rhymney the ball. Great Dale defences sees them regain the ball James Williams has a great run he almost makes it to the try line, he passes Jordan Way to cross the try line and score, 3-3. Rhymney restarts with a try, 4-3. James Williams has another good run but is penalised for a hand off, Jordan way tackles Rhymney into touch to regain possession. Rhymney reclaimed possession, Max Rossiter, William Morgan and Thomas Gregory put in some great tackles but Rhymney persisted and scored, 5-3. William Morgan had an excellent run through the defence dragging players with him, Rhymney finally got to William to the floor before pushing Dale into touch. Zac Tucker made the final tackle of the morning. Final score Rhymney 5 - Oakdale 3.

Coaches Comments - The boys are now showing great character and a real sense of belief, I did think they had their hands on backwards today though with alot of dropped passes! Da iawn!
