The 1st home game for the U8's saw them face Forgeside in the September sunshine. Oakdale win the toss to start and a quick pass to Dylan Jones see him put his head down and away he goes to open the scoring. Forgeside restart there is excellent tagging from Oliver Tucker, Codie Brookes and William Hilditch there was just no way through the defence so turnover ball sees a pass to Scottie Welsh for him to carry out 0ne of his signature weaving runs to score.
Forgeside restart trying hard to penetrate the Dales defensive line but another 6 tags from the boys see Oliver Tucker score from the turnover. There does not seem to be any stopping these boys today and after another turnover William Hilditch receives a pass from Dylan Jones to show his speed and score in style. 
Forgeside try hard to step up their game but there is consistent tagging from Oliver, Codie, Scottie and Lewys there just does not seem anyway through. There is a period of play showing good tagging and passing from both sides before Dylan receives a pass, spots a gap and off he goes like lightening for his 2nd try.

End of 1st 3rd Oakdale 5 Forgeside 0

The 2nd 3rd of the match sees Oakdale supply a whole new team of fresh legs but these boys have been watching and they are just as determined as there are tags being pulled in all directions. Tal Watkins, Iestyn Morgans and Daniel Uppington are pulling tags like their lives depend on it!
A pass from Finley Williams sees Ben Thomas start a long solo run with lots of side steps to see him score. A slight lapse in concentration see the Dale caught offside the penalty pass see Forgeside score their 1st try of the day. 

Oakdale restart the pass from Deacon Rhead see Ethan Paterson spot a gap show some speed and score as there was no stopping him.

Forgeside up their game and look more determined the Dale are caught creeping offsides again so Forgeside take the opportunity and with a weaving run score a try.

Oakdale quickly restart Daniel Uppington receives a lovely pass from Deacon Rhead to score in the corner.

Lewys starts the 3rd and final part of the match and the boys have now decided its time to show of their passing skills - they start passing across the line like pro's Dylan to Codie to William Hilditch to see him score in the corner.

Forgeside show that they can also pass the ball but end up in touch this gives the boys another opportunity to show off their ball skills and lovely passes from Rhydian Scott and Codie supply Dylan with a pass to score.

The Dale keep up the defence with Forgeside being unable to find any gaps through - the heavy workload takes its toll so the coaches decide more fresh legs - it's not too long before Deacon passes to Tal  for him to side step his way to a try.

Forgeside sneak in for a deserved try.  

The Dale take a quick restart which allows Finley Williams to score.

The final try of the day is scored by Man of the Match - Tal Watkins
