Fixture

The first game of the morning was against Risca.  Risca won the toss and started the game.  Thomas Gregory took the first tackle causing Risca to drop the ball, Max Rossiter was on hand to pick it up and make some good ground, he passed to Gabriel Jones who passed onto Thomas Gregory to claim the first try of the game, 1-0.  Risca restarted and we saw great tackles from William Morgan, Jordan Way and Zac Tucker, a knock on gave the scrum to the Dale, William Morgan had a good run before passing to Zac Tucker who weaved through the defence to score, 2-0.  Risca restarted but a tackle from Max Rossiter saw them land in touch. William Davey took the ball and ran the length of the pitch to score, 3-0.  Risca restarted and were determined to get on the board, Zac Tucker, Thomas Gregory, Jordan Way and Gabriel Jones put in great tackles before Risca finally broke the defence, 3-1.  Dale restarted and the ball went loose, Risca picked up and saw a gap on the wing to score, 3-2.  James Williams ran from the restart, it looked promising until the defence forced him into touch.  Thomas Gregory took two great tackles causing the ball to go loose; Jordan Way picked up the ball and had a great run before being tackled into touch on the half time whistle.

Half Time, Oakdale 3 – Risca 2

Dale restarted and soon lost possession which Risca used to equalise, 3-3.  William Morgan used his pace but unfortunately he was caught and lost possession. Dafydd Price was determined not to let Risca score, he held onto the player until he finally got him to ground and caused a knock on.  Dale passed out from the scrum to Zac Tucker, he found the touch line before the try line, Risca used the regained possession to take the lead, 3-4.  Another loose ball saw Risca gain possession, Thomas Gregory and Dylan Caddy put in two good tackles before chasing Risca down the touch line forcing them off the pitch.  Unfortunately the Dale were unable to use the ball a knock on gave Risca a scrum from which they scored, 3-5.  Despite Thomas Gregory and Dylan Caddy again being there for the chase Risca took the final try of the game, 3-6.

Full Time, Oakdale 3 – Risca 2

The second game of the morning was against first time visitors Usk.  Usk started the game and possession passed back and fore before Usk scored 0.-1.  Dale started and Zac Tucker drove through the defence taking players with him, Max Rossiter followed suit before William Morgan found the try line, 1-1.  Usk restarted, some good tackles were put in by William Morgan, Zac Tucker and Thomas Gregory before Usk scored. 1-2. Dale restarted and Oliver Cooke had a run before a good pass to Thomas Gregory who used his pace to equalise before half time.

Half Time, Oakdale 2 – Usk 2

Dale restarted the second half, a good run by Dafydd Price before passing to Thomas Gregory to score in the corner, 3-2.  Usk restarted William Morgan stole the ball, unfortunately Dale lost the ball near the try line but possession was regained by the Dale following a Max Rossiter tackle into touch.  William Davey had a good run but a knock on gave scrum to Usk.  Usk were unable to keep possession when Dafydd Price intercepted the ball and fed out to Max Rossiter to score, 4-2.  Dale soon saw the ball back with them following a hand off by Usk, William Davey had a mazey run into touch.  Another hand off gave the Dale the opportunity to use the ball Max Rossiter drove through the defence before passing to William Davey to score in the corner, 5-2.  Usk persisted and broke the defence line to score, 5-3.  Dale restarted and William Davey had a great run to score his third try of the morning, 6-3.  Usk restarted the game but were tackled into touch on the whistle.
