Lack of Training Facilities taking its effect??

This morning the Dale hosted Whitchurch and Hafodyrynys and the morning started with a minute’s silence which was respected by all players and supporters.

The first game was against Whitchurch, the Dale won the toss and started with a determined run from Dafydd Price who was unfortunate to find himself in touch.  William Morgan was determined to not let Whitchurch use the possession and a thumping tackle caused Whitchurch to knock on.  Scrum to Dale Thomas Gregory took the Dale deep into the visitors half before off-loading to Jordan Way, he got tackled at the try line and tried to score but two movements gave the penalty to Whitchurch. We saw play passing back and fore with Gabriel Jones picking up a loose ball he passed to William Davey who pushed through the defence before passing to Jordan Way, this time is was Whitchurch  who picked up the loose ball, Whitchurch’s number 10 thought he was going to score, however Thomas Gregory came across and tackled him into touch.  The possession once again passed back and fore and eventually Whitchurch broke through and scored, 0-1.  Dale restarted and Oliver Cooke had a run but found touch, Whitchurch scored from the possession, 0-2.  William Davey took the ball had headed to the try line, unfortunately he found the touch line before the try line.  Jordan Way allowed the Dale to regain possession by a tackle into touch, William Morgan ran straight through the defence to score, 1-2.

Half Time Oakdale 1 – Whitchurch 2

The second half started the same as the first with possession passing back and fore with knock on and loose ball before Whitchurch scored, 1-3.  Dale respond with a quick try from Thomas Gregory, 2-3 followed by another from Whitchurch, 2-4.  Max Rossiter uses his power to make his way to the try line, he passes to William Davey who passes out to Jordan Way who pushed his way over the line to score, 3-4.  Thomas Gregory pounces onto a loose ball, he passes to Dylan Caddy who had a good run before Dale found them in touch.  Whitchurch try to use the ball but Oliver Cooke pulls the player into touch.  Time had run out and Dale couldn’t use the regained possession.

Final Score Oakdale 3 – Whitchurch 4

The second game was against near neighbours Hafod.  The visitors won the toss and started the game with two quick tries, 0-2.  The Dale came back with a quick try from Thomas Gregory, 1-2.  Jordan Way,  William Morgan and Max Rossiter put in some great tackles but could not prevent Hafod scoring, 1-3.  From the whistle William Morgan put his head down and ran through the defence to score, 2-3.

Half Time Oakdale 2 – Hafodyrynys 3

Dale restarted the second half with a good run by James Williams; he offloaded to Max Rossiter who dragged a few along with him before passing to Thomas Gregory to score, 3-3.  Once again we saw Thomas Gregory and William Morgan put in some good tackles before Hafod found the try line, 3-4.  A forward pass gave Hafod possession, Thomas was very unlucky to miss the tackle and Hafod scored, 3-5.  Dale restart and Oliver Cooke has a run before an offload to James Williams, play continued and a forward pass once again gave Hafod possession, Connor Thomas got to the player for the tackle but it was just on the try line, 3-6.  William Morgan took the ball, he passed to Thomas Gregory but he found touch, Hafod took the ball Thomas Gregory was there to put in a few tackles with the last forcing Hafod into touch on the whistle.
