It was a wet start to the game on Sunday, but luckily the sun did decide to make an appearance.
1st Half
Oakdale started the game with some great passing and Oliver Tucker being unlucky to be tagged just short of the try line. Next play Oakdale defended well to Senghenydd scoring. Oakdale’s’ ball and Iestyn Morgan made a great run but Senghenydd were tagging very well. Ethan Patterson scored Oakdale’s first try, he had great support from other members of the team and glided over the try line.
Next play Senghenydd were quick off the mark to score their second try. This followed with another great try from Ethan Patterson.
Kodi Mckenzie made a great run with Oakdale’s next ball but was stopped just before the line. Senghenydd’s ball and some good tags from Oliver Gambold, Iestyn Morgan, Ben Thomas and Oliver Tucker. Senghenydd were on a good run though and made it to the line to score their third try.
Final ball of the half and Scott Thomas did some great weaving in and out of players and with Ethan Patterson they made some good ground. Senghenydd had really strong defence and were tagging well which stopped the team getting through.

2nd Half
Senghenydd were straight off the mark to score their fourth try. William Hilditch made an excellent pass to Lewys Robinson-Blanche with Oakdale’s ball and with a great run from Dylan Jones, Deacon Rhead followed with a try for Oakdale.
Senghenydd’s ball and some good tagging from William Hilditch, Tal Watkins and Deacon Rhead. Knock on from Senghenydd so Oakdale ball.
Great passing in the Oakdale team for their next play. Rhydian Scott to Dylan Jones, to Deacon Rhead and then Tal Watkins on a great run to the try line when the whistle was called for lost tags. Very unlucky Oakdale.
The game followed with a knock on from Oakdale so it was Senghenydd ball. Senghenydd did some good passes until they went into touch so Oakdale ball. An excellent run from Finley Williams and good passing resulted in a try from Tal Watkins in the top left corner.
With Senghenydd ball Deacon Rhead tagged three Senghenydd players followed by another tag from William Hilditch. Deacon Rhead then had his fourth tag, followed by Rhydian Scott. Senghenydd fought their way to the line however and scored their final try in the last seconds of the game.
